Shrine of Sto. Niño to rise in Calapan City

STO. NIÑO SHRINE AT NEO CALAPAN.   Former Oriental Mindoro Governor and First District Congressman, Rodolfo G. Valencia (RGV) led the groundbreaking rites for the construction of the Sto. Niño Shrine recently.  The church will be built on a 4,000-square meter lot within the Neo-Calapan, a landmark housing community and commercial malls within the heart of Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro.

Inspired by the façade of the original shrine of Sto. Nino de Prague in The Czech Republic built in the 15th Century, the church will not only be a place of worship for the populace within Neo Calapan, its immediate neighborhood and other nearby tow but a major tourist destination.  When completed, the lot together with the church will be donated to the Vicariate of Oriental Mindoro.
